Steve Parham: "Laid-Back Lenny"

Steve Parham met Canopic's Phil Rice in 1976. For the next two years, Steve's relatively practical approach to being in high school provided a ballast for Phil's completely untethered navigation of same. At least that's Phil's take on it.


The friendship persists. In 2017 they co-wrote a song inspired by a memory of their teenage perception of Phil's dad (Charles Rice, author of The View from My Ridge) and fueled by their own middle-age awareness of the profound influence of certain "elders" along the way.
